Casa de Mango is about a 20-minute ride to town and sits in a quiet residential neighborhood. As you enter the property and circular driveway, the unobstructed view of the Caribbean Sea will blow you away! There is a spacious sandy beach/front yard to enjoy sunny days, and a palapa to grab some shade and a cool beverage. A wood pier gives you access to the water, and boats can pick you up right at your doorstep when you are off to go snorkeling or diving for the day.

The home has two stories. The main living area is on the first story. A tiled veranda overlooks the yard and sea. The veranda serves as the entrance to an open living and dining area and is the perfect setting for a romantic dinner. A kitchen with modern stainless steel appliances is at the rear of the home as is a half bath and laundry closet with a stacked washer/dryer.

The stairs lead up to the second story where you will find a master bedroom, guest bedroom and shared bathroom with shower. Patio doors in the master bedroom give access to another veranda overlooking the yard and sea. Catch the early morning sunrise or an occasional moonrise over the Caribbean Sea.

The kitchen and each bedroom having air conditioning units, but the whole house benefits from the sea breezes when it's opened up.

The town of San Pedro sits on the Caribbean island of Ambergris Caye, Belize. It is a beautiful tropical paradise, like most Caribbean islands, in a small and developing country. Although most areas on the island are connected to electricity, water and internet, please be aware that there are occasional interruptions in service. Planned interruptions in service are announced by the local utility companies, and we strive to inform our guests as quickly as we are notified. When interruptions occur that are unplanned, the locals go about making the most of their day until service is restored.

    We had a fun time even though it rained every night and some of every day. The road was horrible but an adventure. The house is definitely not fancy but is fine. We had wifi issues but the internet company came right out and fixed it.

    For the price of this property, we were pretty disappointed. The cleanliness of the house wasn't very good. It was clear the house hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. We suspect the cleaning crew cleaned the house weeks or even a month before we arrived. The floors were very dirty & covered in Gecko poo, indicating it hadn't be cleaned right before we arrived. There was never the same amount of Gecko poo the whole time we were there. There was raccoon poo on the steps leading up the house, which the property manager saw & apologized for, but still made us clean up. The dock was disappointing. The description states that you can swim from the dock, but you can't. The water is much too shallow to swim in & there also isn't a ladder to get in/out of the water. The neighbours are extremely kind & let us use their dock the whole time. If you go on any excursions, you'll need to be picked up at the neighbours dock (just FYI) as this dock is too shallow for the boats (even during high tide). We love snorkelling & swimming & were disappointed that we couldn't do so from the dock. Upon arrival, we noticed the water wasn't turned on & the cable wasn't hooked up. If my Dad wasn't so handy, we would've been waiting a while before someone could come out & fix these problems. The outside shower was also broken. They sent someone to fix it the following day. The furniture inside the house was not up to our standards. The table & chairs in the "dining room" were falling apart. If you put any kind of weight down on one part of the table, a different part would lift up. The twin beds in the 2nd room had no support. If you sat in the middle of the bed, it folded towards you. Although this wasn't the properties fault, the bugs were SO bad we actually couldn't be outside longer than a few minutes. We were constantly bit the second we left the house. We weren't able to enjoy our beach at all. It is much too expensive for what you receive. We highly suggest lowering it.
